Google Business Profile optimisation, done within the rules.

What we optimise

Every part of the profile Google actually uses.

Done as part of every plan, checked at the start and kept up to date monthly.

Categories

The primary category is one of the strongest relevance signals you control. We check it against the businesses that already hold the map pack for your main search, then add secondary categories only where you genuinely offer the service.

Services, products and menus

Every service listed with a plain description. For Barossa 50’s Diner that meant loading the full 119-item menu so people (and Google) can see exactly what’s served.

Service areas, hours and attributes

Real service areas, accurate hours including public holidays, and the attributes that apply to you.

Photos

Your own photos of real jobs, your team at work, your vehicles and premises. Not stock. We give you a short shot list so it takes ten minutes on site, not an afternoon.

Reviews and replies

A simple way to ask every happy customer, and replies that sound like you. No incentives, no review gating, nothing that breaks Google’s rules.

Consistency with your website

The same name, phone and address on your profile, your site and the directories, and a website that backs up every service the profile claims. A profile that says one thing and a site that says another weakens both.

Proof

Profiles that sit behind real rankings.

For each of these businesses we built out the Google Business Profile alongside the website. These are live checks of where they show on Google Maps and in Google’s map box, run on 5 October 2026 from the town shown.

What we won’t do

The shortcuts that get profiles suspended.

  • Keywords in your business name. Against the guidelines and easy for competitors to report.
  • Fake or virtual-office addresses. A common reason profiles are suspended.
  • Buying reviews, or swapping discounts for them. Google removes them, and the ACCC takes a dim view too.
  • Phone numbers or salesy links stuffed into posts. We’ve seen posting disabled for exactly this.
  • Taking ownership of your profile. You own it. We manage it.

Questions

Google Business Profile, answered.

Should I add keywords to my business name on Google?

No. Google’s guidelines say the name should match your real-world business name. Adding “Best Plumber Adelaide” to it can get the profile suspended, and competitors can and do report it. Relevance comes from categories, services, your website and reviews instead.

Can you get rid of a bad review?

Only if it breaks Google’s policies (spam, conflict of interest, offensive content and so on), in which case it can be reported. Otherwise the best response is a calm, specific reply from you. Future customers read the replies.

Do Google posts help rankings?

Not directly in any way Google has confirmed. They help people who are already looking at your profile decide, and they show the business is active. Keep them useful and within the rules: a client of ours had posting disabled after a post included a phone number, so we now check every post against Google’s content policy first.

I don’t have a shopfront. Can I still have a profile?

Yes, as a service-area business. You hide your address and set the areas you serve. Mobile welders, pest controllers and cleaners all work this way.

Who should own the profile?

You should. We work as a manager on your profile, never as the owner, so you keep control if you ever stop working with us.

Ready when you are

Is your profile holding you back?

We’ll check it against the businesses in the map pack for your main search, free.
