Who we are

adelaideseoservices.com.au is run by Joshua Button, a sole trader (ABN 26 344 199 586) based in Nuriootpa, South Australia 5355, under the registered business name Adelaide SEO Services - JB Digital Barossa. Joshua Button also trades as JB Digital Barossa, and Adelaide SEO Services is its SEO division. “We” and “us” below means Joshua Button, trading under those names.

We are a small business, and we choose to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect, and why

When you send a form. The free SEO audit form asks for your name, email and website, and optionally your phone number and what you want to be found for. The contact form asks for your name and email, and optionally your phone, website and what you need help with. We use what you send only to reply, to do the audit you asked for, and to quote for work if you ask us to.

Each sent form is emailed to our business inbox through Resend, our email delivery service, and we send you an email confirming we received it. Forms are checked automatically for spam: anything that looks like spam is held in our client portal for us to review, and known spam senders are filtered out. A short record of the enquiry (your name, email and a line about what you asked for) is also kept in our client portal so we can follow it up, and if the email ever fails to send, the whole enquiry is saved there so it isn’t lost.

Forms you start but don’t send. Once you type a valid email address or phone number into one of our enquiry forms that shows a notice about this, we save what you have entered so far (your name, contact details and the details of your enquiry), even if you don’t press send. We do this only so that we can get in touch once to help if your enquiry was interrupted; we never email you automatically about it. We never save passwords or payment details. If you tap “Clear” under the form, or empty both the email and phone fields, what you typed is deleted. If you send the form, the unsent copy is deleted straight away. Otherwise it is deleted automatically after 90 days. These saved details are stored in our client portal’s database, hosted in Australia (Sydney). If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, nothing is saved before you press send.

The free AI visibility check. The free AI visibility check asks for your business name, town or suburb and the service you offer, and optionally your website. To run the check, these are sent to Anthropic, whose Claude AI (using Anthropic’s web search) answers three questions a customer might ask. Your business name is not included in those questions. If you give a website, we also request that site’s public /llms.txt file as part of the check; we don’t keep what it contains. The check and its result are stored for 12 months so your result link keeps working. Each result gets a random link that can’t be guessed, but anyone who has the link can open it. If exactly the same check is run again within 24 hours, by you or by anyone else who enters the same details, the saved result is shown instead of running a new one. Checks are limited to three a day per IP address; for that limit, we store your IP address only as a scrambled code (a salted hash), not the address itself.

On your result you can ask us to email you the full report and a free audit. That asks for your name and email, which are sent with your check to our business inbox through Resend, through the same spam checks as our other forms, and a short record goes to our client portal. We may also email your result to you, no more than twice a day to the same address; for that limit, we store your email address only as a scrambled code (a salted hash). We don’t send a result email if the request looks like spam. We use these details only to reply and do the audit you asked for.

Calls and email links. When you tap our phone number or email address, we record that the link was used and on which page. This doesn’t include anything about you.

Marketing emails. We may occasionally email a business about our services, using a business address it publishes, or email past enquirers and clients. Every marketing email says who it is from (Adelaide SEO Services - JB Digital Barossa or JB Digital Barossa, ABN 26 344 199 586) and how to stop them: reply “unsubscribe” (or “no thanks”), or email admin@jbdigitalbarossa.com.au. We action it within 5 working days and keep your email address on a do-not-contact list so we don’t email you again. Invoices, receipts and replies to your own enquiries aren’t marketing emails.

We don’t buy data about you or scrape your details from elsewhere. Apart from the technical details and AI visibility check results described on this page, we don’t collect anything you haven’t typed in yourself.

Analytics and cookies

On adelaideseoservices.com.au itself (not on previews or test copies), we use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are and what device they use, how they found us, and which buttons are used (calling, emailing, starting a form, and a form that was sent successfully). What you type into a form is never sent to Google Analytics. Google Analytics only sets cookies if you agree.

When you first visit, a banner asks for your choice. Until you choose, Google’s consent mode keeps analytics storage and all advertising settings set to “denied”. Google Analytics still loads and sends basic, cookieless signals (such as a page view), but no Google Analytics cookies are set on your device. If you choose Accept, these settings are switched on and Google Analytics sets two cookies, _ga and _ga_DW8ZVN9YKZ, which can last up to two years. If you choose Decline, everything stays set to “denied” and no Google Analytics cookies are set.

Your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage. You can change it at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. You can also block cookies in your browser settings or use Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on, and the site works the same without them.

If someone from our own team opens the site with a special owner link, a setting called jbd_owner is saved in that browser’s local storage so their own visits are marked as internal in Google Analytics and left out of our numbers. It is never set for anyone else.

While you type in a form, your browser’s session storage keeps a random ID so a saved draft can be matched up or cleared; it disappears when you close the tab.

We don’t use advertising or remarketing tags on this site, and we never sell, rent or share your information for marketing.

Facebook on blog articles

Our blog articles show a few of JB Digital Barossa’s latest Facebook posts, embedded from facebook.com using Facebook’s own script, which loads only when you scroll near them. When it loads, Facebook receives your IP address and browser details and may set its own cookies, under Facebook’s privacy policy. If you’d rather not, don’t scroll to those posts, or block third-party content in your browser; the article works without them, and each post stays a plain link.

Who else handles it

We use trusted service providers (such as website hosting, email delivery, analytics, payments and business software) to run our services; some may store or process data outside Australia. They include:

  • Netlify hosts this website, runs the form and AI visibility check functions, and stores saved AI visibility checks. Like any web host it processes technical details of each visit, such as IP address and browser, to serve the site and protect it from abuse.
  • Resend delivers form emails, confirmation emails and AI visibility check result emails.
  • Google provides Google Analytics and our business email.
  • Anthropic provides the Claude AI, with web search, that runs the free AI visibility check. It receives the business name, town or suburb, service and website you enter.
  • Supabase hosts our client portal database, stored in Sydney, Australia.
  • Stripe processes card payments from clients, made through the payment link on an invoice or in our client portal.
  • Meta (Facebook) provides the embedded Facebook posts on blog articles.

These providers are based overseas, mainly in the United States, so some information may be processed outside Australia. Our client portal database itself is stored in Sydney. We only use these providers to run this website, reply to you and, if you become a client, provide and bill our services.

Clients use our client portal, which has its own privacy notice. It explains how the portal works, including its “Ask about your website” AI assistant.

How long we keep it

Unsent form drafts are deleted after 90 days at the latest. AI visibility checks and their results are kept for 12 months so your result link keeps working, then deleted automatically, together with the saved copies used for repeat checks and the scrambled codes used for the daily limits. If you would like your check and its result deleted sooner, email admin@jbdigitalbarossa.com.au. Sent enquiries are kept as business records for as long as we need them to work with you and meet our record-keeping obligations, then deleted.

Your choices: access, correction and deletion

To see what we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, or ask us not to contact you, email admin@jbdigitalbarossa.com.au, call 0491 303 141 or write to Joshua Button, Adelaide SEO Services - JB Digital Barossa, Nuriootpa SA 5355, and we will respond within a reasonable time (usually within 30 days). If you’re not happy with how we handle a privacy concern, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au, 1300 363 992).
