Local SEO · Google Business Profile · Google Maps
Local SEO in Adelaide that earns the map pack.
When someone nearby searches for what you do, Google shows a map and three businesses before almost anything else. This is the work of becoming one of the three — profile, Maps, reviews, citations and on-site signals — measured in Search Console like everything we do.
Who this is for
Most Adelaide searches for a local service are local searches.
People don't browse for a bathroom renovator, a mobile welder or a paver — they search "[service] near me" or "[service] [suburb]" and Google answers with the map pack: three listings, a map, and phone buttons. If you're not in that block for your trade in your own suburbs, those calls are going to whoever is.
Local SEO is the craft of earning that spot. It spans your Google Business Profile, your reviews, your citations, and the parts of your website that tell Google exactly where you work and what you do. It's the strongest suit of our whole Adelaide SEO practice — most of our clients are exactly this kind of business, and many are tradies whose entire pipeline is local search.
One page on purpose: "Google Business Profile SEO", "Google Maps SEO" and "map-pack ranking" are the same job wearing different names, so we cover the lot here rather than spinning up a thin page for each phrase.
Signs you need local SEO
- You search your own trade in your own suburb and you're not in the map results
- Your Google Business Profile is unclaimed, half-filled or in the wrong category
- A competitor with fewer, worse reviews sits above you on Maps
- Your website never actually names the suburbs you serve
- You get found for your business name, but never for what you do
What's included
The whole local job, not a listing tweak.
Google Business Profile, optimised & managed
Claiming and verification if needed, correct categories, a full services list, photos, attributes, hours and Q&A — then kept current month after month, because a set-and-forget profile slides.
Citations that agree with each other
Your name, address and phone number made consistent across the Australian directories that actually matter — and the old, wrong listings that confuse Google cleaned up.
A reviews strategy
A simple, policy-compliant system for asking real customers at the right moment. Never bought, never faked, never gated — genuine reviews are a ranking signal precisely because they're hard to fake.
Local landing pages
Real pages for the suburbs and services you actually work, written properly. The Becks Bathrooms suburb results below came from exactly this — an SEO-first build with suburb pages that earn their place.
Local schema & technical
LocalBusiness structured data, service areas, opening hours and clean indexing, so Google's machines read your site the way your customers do.
Maps ranking work & monthly reporting
Steady work on the three levers Google actually uses — proximity, relevance, prominence — with a monthly Google Search Console report in plain English: queries, positions, clicks, dates.
Receipts
Local results you can check for yourself.
Every figure below comes straight from Google Search Console for the 28 days to 18 Sep 2026 — named South Australian clients, real suburb and near-me queries. Click any card for the full case study.

Two of those are worth a sentence each. "Paving gawler" is a documented page-two-to-page-one move — May Paving averaged position 10 for it in the 27 Jul – 23 Aug 2026 window, and 6.2 in the current one. And the Barossa 50's Diner isn't in Adelaide at all: it's a brand-new Tanunda venue we took to #1 for every non-branded local diner search within weeks — the same local method, working somewhere you can verify.
How it works
Five steps, in the open.
- Local audit. Where you actually sit for the searches that pay you — map pack and organic — plus Google Business Profile health, citation mess, and how your reviews compare with the competitors currently in the pack.
- Fix the profile. Verification if it's unclaimed, the right categories, a complete services list, photos, attributes and hours — until yours is the best-maintained profile in your category, and stays that way.
- Build the local signals on-site. Suburb and service pages that read like a human wrote them, LocalBusiness schema, consistent name-address-phone, and content that names the places you genuinely work.
- Earn prominence. A steady flow of genuine reviews and legitimate Australian citations and mentions. Never bought, never spammed — shortcuts here are what get profiles suspended.
- Measure and report. Google Search Console open between us, every month: the queries, the average positions, the clicks, the dates — worded exactly like the receipts on this page.
What it costs
Local SEO from $390 a month.
Everything on this page is our Local plan — $390 a month, month-to-month, no lock-in contracts. Like all our work, it starts with the free audit, so you know exactly what needs fixing before you pay anyone to fix it.
Straight answers
Local SEO questions, answered honestly.
What is the map pack?
The block of three business listings Google shows under a map for searches with local intent — like "bathroom renovations near me". It sits above most normal results, which makes it the most valuable real estate on the page for a local business. Ranking there comes down to proximity, relevance and prominence: where you are, how well your profile and website match the search, and how established you look — reviews, citations, mentions.
How long does local SEO take?
Weeks for the housekeeping, months for the movement — anyone promising the map pack in a fortnight is selling something. Fixing a neglected profile can show quickly; suburb-query and map-pack movement typically takes 4–12 weeks for lower-competition terms and longer for competitive Adelaide-wide ones. Every bit of it lands in Search Console, where we both can see it.
Do I need a physical address in Adelaide?
No. Google supports service-area businesses: you can verify your profile, hide the street address, and list the suburbs you serve instead. What you can't do is invent offices you don't have — fake addresses get profiles suspended. Home-based businesses aren't locked out of local SEO; the setup is just different.
I travel to customers — does local SEO still work?
Yes. Mobile and service-area businesses — welders, pavers, renovators, cleaners — make up most of our client list, and most of the receipts on this site. The work shifts weight from a shopfront to service areas, suburb landing pages and a properly configured service-area profile. If that sounds like your business, the SEO for tradies page is written for you.
Can you get us more Google reviews?
We build you a simple, policy-compliant system for asking real customers at the right moment, and make it easy for them to follow through. We never buy reviews, post fake ones, or "gate" reviews by filtering out unhappy customers first — all three breach Google's policies and can get a profile penalised. Genuine reviews are a signal Google trusts precisely because they're hard to fake.
