Roam Offroad SEO case study — page one for Adelaide 4x4 searches.

A Gawler 4x4 shop that Adelaide already knew by name — but Google didn't show it for what it actually sells. Four weeks of Search Console data below, query by query.

The starting situation

Roam Offroad is a real bricks-and-mortar 4x4 accessories and fitment shop in Gawler, on Adelaide's northern edge, with a Shopify store attached. People who already knew the name could find it — brand searches were never the problem, which is exactly why we don't count them as wins (branded rankings are demand, not SEO).

The problem was everything else. When someone in the Adelaide metro searched for the things Roam sells — 4x4 accessories, bull bars, a 4x4 shop near them — Roam was largely invisible. For a retailer whose next customer hasn't heard of it yet, non-branded visibility is the whole game. That's the gap this engagement was built to close.

Work performed

What we did — and what we didn't.

First, the honest separation: we did not build this website. Roam's Shopify store, product range and brand were already there. Nothing below is a redesign result dressed up as SEO — this is search work applied to an existing store, which is what makes the numbers meaningful.

  • On-site fixes. Rewrote how the site presents itself to Google — titles and descriptions that say what the shop sells and where it sells it, instead of just the brand name — plus clean-up across the key pages so search language like "4x4 accessories Adelaide" and "bull bars Adelaide" actually has somewhere to match.
  • Services build-out. Roam is a fitment shop, not just a webstore — so we built out the services side of the site properly, giving accessory-fitting and upgrade searches real pages to land on.
  • GVM and content work. Content written for what 4x4 owners genuinely search — including GVM upgrade material — rather than generic filler.
  • Google Business Profile. Categories, services and profile work so Gawler and northern-Adelaide map searches surface the shop — the same local SEO discipline we apply for every client.

What changed

What this window shows — and what we learned.

The whole Adelaide 4x4 money-query family now sits on page one on average position: "4x4 accessories adelaide" at 7.6, "4x4 shop adelaide" at 6.1, "adelaide 4x4 accessories" at 8.5, "bull bars adelaide" at 7.8, "4x4 shops adelaide" at 7.7 — every one measured over the same 28 days to 18 Sep 2026. And the head query is still moving: "4x4 accessories adelaide" improved window-on-window, from an average position of 8.5 in the 27 Jul – 23 Aug 2026 window to 7.6 now.

The lesson we'd pass on: for a local retailer, covering the whole query family beats chasing one hero keyword. Adelaide shoppers phrase the same intent five different ways, and Roam now shows up for all of them. It's the same principle behind everything on our Adelaide SEO services — visibility you can point to in Search Console, not a single flattering screenshot.

The honest caveat: clicks on these non-branded queries are still single digits. That's how SEO actually works — page-one impressions come first, and clicks follow as position climbs from the bottom of page one towards the top. We'd rather show you the true early numbers than pretend the graph starts at the finish line.

Your customers search five different ways too.
