Local SEO

33 website enquiries for a Gawler paver: the local SEO behind May Paving’s busiest month.

A family paving business doesn’t need all of Adelaide. It needs the people around Gawler who are pricing a driveway or a patio this month. Here is the local SEO behind May Paving’s enquiries, with every figure dated.

Short answer: we put the work where a local paver’s customers actually look: the Google Business Profile and the map, Gawler pages for each service, guides for the questions people ask before they get a quote, and a quote form that takes photos. From 21 August to 26 October 2026 the site brought in 33 enquiries, and the owners are booked out until mid-January 2027.

The business

May Paving is Brodie and Kayla’s family-owned paving and landscaping business in Gawler. Brodie is on every job and Kayla runs the quotes. They do driveways, patios and outdoor entertaining areas, paving around pools, paths, retaining walls, landscaping, thin pavers for covered patios, and paving repairs and relays, across Gawler, the Barossa and northern Adelaide. Our team at JB Digital Barossa built their first website in May 2026 and redesigned it in September 2026.

What we did

  1. The Business Profile first. For a local paver, most people pick from the map. We set up every paving and landscaping service with a description, and the 20 areas May Paving works in, Gawler first.
  2. A page for each Gawler service. Paving, landscaping and retaining walls in Gawler each have their own page, plus pages for paving in Adelaide and northern Adelaide, written around how locals search rather than copied with the town swapped.
  3. Titles and wording matched to the phrasing family. Paving, pavers, paving services, paving contractors, landscaping and landscapers, without stuffing. One person’s “pavers gawler” is another’s “paving contractors near me”.
  4. Guides for the questions before the quote. Nine guides so far: pavers vs a concrete driveway, paving cost per square metre, getting the fall right so water drains away from the house, council approval for retaining walls, relaying sunken pavers and more. The drainage guide is one of the site’s most-shown pages in Search Console.
  5. A site that sells the job on a phone. The September redesign leads with their own job photos, a gallery filtered by job type, and a quote form that takes photos of the area so Kayla can start on a price before Brodie measures up.
  6. Every enquiry counted. Forms, call taps and email taps all go into the client portal, spam is filtered out before it reaches the owners, and if someone starts a quote and stops, they get a heads-up to follow up.

October’s quote requests came from Gawler, Evanston Park, Angle Vale, Nuriootpa, Two Wells, Salisbury, Andrews Farm, Redbanks, Roseworthy, Athelstone and more: driveway relays and new driveways, patios and outdoor entertaining areas, pool surrounds, retaining walls and raised garden beds. Spam, sales pitches and tests are not counted.

The owners’ result: booked out until mid-January 2027 and taking bookings into the new year (October 2026). That is their account, not something we measured.

What isn’t won yet

  • Maps is strongest close to home. On our 20 October 2026 scoreboard May Paving was #1 for “paving” from Gawler, but 18th from Elizabeth and outside the top 20 from Salisbury and Golden Grove. Those towns are next.
  • Landscaping and retaining walls lag paving. Search Console has “landscaping gawler” and “retaining walls gawler” on page two. Paving is the core of the business, so it got the attention first.
  • We don’t claim the website is page one for “paving gawler”. The map result is the claim; we explain why on the May Paving case study.

What carries over

  • For a local trade, the map is the shop window. Get the Business Profile right before chasing anything else.
  • Answer the questions people ask before they ring. Cost, drainage, council rules: guides like these get shown to people who are about to need a quote.
  • Count the enquiries, not just the clicks. Click-through rate dipped while enquiries doubled month on month.
