Case study · E-commerce · Wix to Shopify migration

My Positive Perspectives: off Wix and onto Shopify, with every old link kept.

Cia’s store sells mindfulness gift boxes and care packages, posted Australia-wide. Moving platforms is where stores lose their Google listings, so the SEO job was to move without breaking anything. From 21 September to 13 October 2026 the new Shopify store took 326 orders and $14,670 in sales (the store owner’s own figures).

Before, the work and after

Before August 2026

The store had outgrown Wix. It cost more to run, was harder to manage, loaded slower and gave less control over titles, structured data and redirects.

  • Old Wix product addresses, such as /product-page/new-mums, were already out on the web and in Google.
  • A platform change rewrites every address, so without redirects those links and listings would hit a dead page.

The work 26 Aug – Oct 2026

  • Pulled every old Wix address the Internet Archive had recorded, and 301-redirected 15 of them to their Shopify pages (for example /product-page/new-mums to the New Mum Reset gift box). All re-checked live on 11 October 2026.
  • Built the store fresh on Shopify rather than copying the Wix template: 75 products by late September, with the pages and blog content moved across.
  • A full store audit on 14 September 2026: titles, broken old links and structured data, with business, website and FAQ schema added.
  • Welcome and abandoned-checkout emails in Klaviyo from 2 September 2026, so visitors who arrive from search and leave get a reminder.

After

Redirects · checked 11 Oct 2026

  • 15 of 15 old Wix addresses land on the right Shopify page.

Sales · 21 Sep – 13 Oct 2026

  • 326 orders and $14,670 in sales through the Shopify store in just over three weeks. These are the store’s own totals, reported by the owner on 13 October 2026; we haven’t audited them.

The honest bits

What the numbers don’t say.

Not every sale came from Google. A gift-box store sells through social media, ambassadors and email as well as search. The 326 orders are the store’s total, and we don’t claim them all as SEO.
The SEO win here is what didn’t break. A good migration is quiet: old links keep working and the listings carry over. That is why this page shows the redirect check first and the sales second.
No ranking figures yet. We are not quoting positions for this store until the new Shopify property has a clean run of Search Console data behind it.

The owner’s words

“Massive thank you, we are so grateful for such a great transfer, and this wouldn’t have happened if we didn’t change off Wix and to Shopify.”
