Short answer: published Adelaide SEO plans start between $399 and $2,000 a month, with a median of $1,350. That comes from the 14 agencies selling SEO in Adelaide that published a price when we checked on 5 October 2026. Our own plans are $349, $599 and $1,099 a month, month to month. On Growth and Serious, 30% of that fee goes into ads in your own Google Ads account, with set-up and running included, or into extra SEO work if you don’t want ads.
Price alone tells you very little, though. Below is what the market charges, what actually drives the cost, and how to check you’re paying for work that moves the needle.
What Adelaide SEO agencies actually charge
On 5 October 2026 we checked the websites of 14 agencies that sell SEO in Adelaide and publish a price: some based here, some interstate with an Adelaide page. Another 6 publish no price at all. We’re not naming them, because prices change and this isn’t about anyone else; the point is the shape of the market.
| Agency | Based | Published monthly prices | Contract terms |
|---|---|---|---|
| A | Adelaide-based | $399 · $699 | month to month, no lock-in |
| B | Adelaide-based | $500 – $2,000 (range) | no lock-in |
| C | Interstate, Adelaide page | $980 · $1,380 · $2,380 | no long-term contracts |
| D | Interstate, Adelaide page | $1,000 | month to month |
| E | Interstate, Adelaide page | $1,100 · $1,600 · $2,100 (excl. GST) | 3-month minimum |
| F | Adelaide-based | $1,200 · $1,800 | not stated |
| G | Interstate, Adelaide page | $1,200 | not stated |
| H | Adelaide-based | $1,500 · $2,500 · $4,000 (+GST) | month to month, no lock-in |
| I | Interstate, Adelaide page | $1,500 (+GST) | no lock-in |
| J | Interstate, Adelaide page | $1,500 (+GST) | not stated |
| K | Adelaide-based | $1,650 | no lock-in |
| L | Interstate, Adelaide page | $1,699 · $2,299 · $2,699 | month to month |
| M | Interstate, Adelaide page | $1,950 · $3,000 (+GST) | not stated |
| N | Adelaide-based | $2,000 (+GST) | no lock-in, 30 days notice |
| +6 | Mixed | No published price | Quote after a call |
The median lowest plan was $1,350 a month. Middle tiers had a median of $1,800, and top tiers $2,540. Almost everyone is now month to month, and several include AI-search (GEO) work. So if you’ve been quoted $1,500 a month by an Adelaide agency, that’s normal for the market. If you’ve been quoted $200 a month by someone you’ve never heard of, ask exactly what work happens each month.
What drives the price
- How competitive your searches are. “Bathroom renovations hallett cove” is a very different job from “seo adelaide”. Suburb-level trade searches can move with a few months of focused work. Adelaide-wide, high-value searches take longer and cost more.
- How many locations and services. One paver in Gawler needs a handful of strong pages. A business with five services across thirty suburbs needs far more.
- The state of your website. A slow site with indexing problems needs fixing before anything else works. Sometimes that’s a one-off cost; sometimes the honest answer is a rebuild.
- Content. Good service and area pages need real information from you: photos, prices, how jobs run. Writing them properly takes time.
- Authority. In crowded markets you need genuine mentions and links from other SA sites. That’s slow, manual work, and it’s where cheap SEO usually cuts corners.
- E-commerce. Online stores with hundreds of products need category structure, product data and technical work at a different scale.
What you should get at each budget
Around $350 to $400 a month
Enough for one location and a sound website: a properly built Google Business Profile kept up to date, on-page work on your main service pages, a review process, consistent business listings, and a monthly report. That fits a lot of local trades. May Paving’s Gawler work is this kind of territory: in a live check on 5 October 2026 it was in the top 3 on Google Maps for “paving” at all nine points we tested across Gawler.
Around $600 to $700 a month
Room to build: new service and area pages written properly, technical fixes as they come up, and tracking of competitors. This suits a trade working across Adelaide. Iron Works Mobile Welding is a good example of this shape of work: “mobile welding adelaide” went from 26.5 (13 Jun – 10 Jul) to 6.3 (5 Sep – 2 Oct 2026), and 3rd in a live check from Adelaide, with page after page built for the different ways customers search.
$1,000 a month and up
Ongoing content, real authority building, multiple locations or a large online store. Most of the market’s published prices start above this level, and for genuinely competitive categories the extra investment can be worth it.
One-off or monthly?
If the audit finds a fixed list of problems (indexing errors, missing pages, a half-finished Google profile), a one-off job can fix them and you may not need a monthly plan for a while. Monthly SEO makes sense when you’re competing for searches that other businesses are also actively working on, because rankings move and someone has to keep earning them.
Red flags, whatever the price
- Ranking guarantees. Nobody controls Google. A guarantee usually means they’ll pick an obscure phrase nobody searches.
- Long lock-in contracts before you’ve seen any results.
- They own your accounts. Your Google Business Profile, Search Console and website should be in your name.
- Reports full of your brand name. Ranking first for your own business name proves nothing. Ask which non-branded searches moved.
- Bought reviews or link packages. Both break Google’s rules and can damage the business.
- A separate “AI SEO” fee for things that are really just good SEO.
How to judge whether it’s worth it
Ask any SEO provider, including us, for three things: named businesses they’ve worked with, the non-branded searches that improved, and the dates. Then look the businesses up. That’s why every result on our results page names the client and shows its Search Console data. A provider who can’t show you that is asking you to pay on trust.
And compare the price to one job. For a paver, a bathroom renovator or a welder, a single extra job a month often covers a Local or Growth plan several times over. What each plan includes is on the SEO services page. The question isn’t whether SEO is cheap; it’s whether the work being done can realistically win you that job.
