Case study · Roofing · Redwood Park & north-east Adelaide

A1 Roofing: a roofer with nothing online, found from week one.

Sam runs A1 Roofing on his own from Redwood Park. In August 2026 he had no website, no domain and a Google listing with the wrong details. The site went live on 2 September 2026, and in its first seven weeks (to 18 October) it brought in 9 genuine quote requests through the form, plus 6 taps on the call button.

Before, the work and after

Before August 2026

Roofing is one of Adelaide’s most crowded trades on Google. A1 Roofing was starting from zero.

  • No website and no domain name.
  • No Facebook page.
  • A Google Business Profile that wasn’t set up properly, with a stray duplicate listing showing the wrong hours.
  • Sam is on roofs all day, so whatever we set up had to bring in work without him at a computer.

The work September onwards

  • Registered a1roofingadelaide.com.au and built a fast site with a page for each roofing service and a quote form that takes photos.
  • Fixed the Business Profile: the roofing category, his services, his real opening hours and the right service area.
  • Added suburb pages and roofing guides written around the searches people make when a roof starts leaking.
  • Search Console and Google Analytics connected from launch day, so every quote request and every tap on the call button is counted.
  • Google posts on the profile, and the site shared to local Facebook community groups.

After

Enquiries · 2 Sep – 18 Oct 2026

  • 9 genuine quote requests through the website form in the first seven weeks, counted one by one, with spam, sales pitches and our own tests left out.
  • 6 taps on the call button to 16 Oct 2026 (Google Analytics).
  • The requests came from Redwood Park, Greenwith, Highbury, Clearview, Parkside, Woodcroft and Seaford Rise: leaks, roof restorations, a full roof and gutter replacement and more.

Search Console · 22-day windows

  • Google impressions 340 → 779 (2–23 Sep vs 25 Sep – 16 Oct 2026).
  • Searches that don’t name the business: 169 → 485 impressions over the same windows.
  • Clicks from Google 23 → 30.

The honest bits

What the numbers don’t say.

No ranking win to show yet. In Search Console to 16 October 2026, A1’s searches that don’t name the business averaged positions 37 to 88, and our 13 October Maps grids found it at 1 point out of 72. The enquiries came while the rankings are still being built, so this page leads with enquiries, not positions.
Click-through rate fell as the site showed for more searches. CTR went from 6.8% to 3.9% across the two windows. That is normal for a new site that starts appearing for many more searches, a lot of them on page four or five.
Reviews are the gap. In a trade this crowded, Google Maps rewards reviews and real job photos. That is the next job, and it depends on Sam’s customers as much as on us.

What’s next

More Google reviews and job photos for the Maps listing, a Facebook page in A1’s brand, and a small, tightly targeted Google Ads campaign around Redwood Park and the north-east suburbs. None of that is counted above. The build side of this story is on JB Digital Barossa’s A1 Roofing case study.
